Product Description: Soft and creamy, a matcha delight from a tea shop. Uji Matcha Warabi Mochi with the fragrance of matcha. Three major pillars: a challenge to refresh a classic. The matcha warabi mochi, beloved by customers, has been completely reinvented as a "challenge." In this endeavor, Ito Kyuemon established three major pillars. The first is a fresh, soft, and creamy texture. The second is the sweetness of matcha syrup that blends throughout the warabi mochi. The third is the fragrant aroma and slight bitterness of matcha black soybean flour. While returning to basics, we aimed to create a "matcha warabi mochi" that only a tea shop can produce. Enjoy the texture of authentic warabi flour and the aroma of matcha black soybean flour, evoking memories. The matcha warabi mochi stands elegantly on the plate. Its freshness elicits a sigh, and the deep green beauty reflects the history of this confection since the Muromachi period. The moment it touches your mouth, the sensation melds with your tongue, smoothly passing down your throat, with the aroma of matcha gently wafting through your nose... Close your eyes for a moment with tea. One day, while strolling through the streets of Kyoto, I had warabi mochi at a shop I stumbled upon. We aimed for a texture that can be savored alongside memories.
About Ito Kyuemon: A tea shop in Uji, Kyoto, that values traditions passed down since the Edo period while promoting values of tea. The tea-making of Ito Kyuemon began in the late Edo period. The carefully crafted tea, with a commitment to quality, has been favored by many famous temples and shrines. In recent years, we opened a tea room to allow more people to enjoy tea, and we continue to explore ways to enjoy Uji tea, including the development of matcha sweets and online sales. Throughout the years, we have adapted to the times while maintaining two core commitments: pursuing the unique quality of Ito Kyuemon tea and continually incorporating sensations to broadly convey the charm of Uji tea. We propose ways to enjoy Uji tea that fit modern lifestyles, not just the traditional brewing style. Our mission is to convey the beautiful colors, rich aromas, and flavors unique to Uji tea, as well as the charm of the city of Uji, to Japan and the world.
