Morning Glory Clean is based on the beloved Morning Glory used by Julian Lage for many years, born from a dialogue asking, "What do we seek in an overdrive?" Starting from the question of whether this sound can be further evolved, it features a complete redesign centered around parallel clean blend, rather than simple modifications. At first glance, adding a clean signal to an already transparent sound may seem unnecessary. However, the answer lies in the moment when the pedal's "magic" appears.

Increasing the drive adds beautiful overtones and produces natural soft compression. It has a jangly, shimmering quality that naturally blends into the mix, while the low end is smoothly cut as if from a final mix. The newly added parallel clean circuit compensates for the natural attenuation of the low end without compromising the original character. The distortion section is based on the initial version (V1) but with higher headroom. It combines the natural tone with technological updates developed in V4. When placed before distortion, it yields richer, more natural sustain; when placed after delay, it creates a unique texture where series and parallel effects intersect. It also performs excellently as a first-stage overdrive. This model is among the most meticulously designed and refined Morning Glory pedals by JHS Pedals, and it offers high-quality performance even for bass applications.

■ Controls - VOLUME: Controls the overall volume of Morning Glory Clean, including dry (clean) and wet (drive) signals. - TONE: Controls the tone stack of the DRIVE circuit, based on Morning Glory V1. Turning clockwise results in a clearer sound, counterclockwise yields a warmer tone. - CLEAN: At minimum (counterclockwise), outputs the Morning Glory (distorted) sound; at maximum (clockwise), outputs a pure clean sound. First set DRIVE and CLEAN to maximum, then adjust CLEAN for optimal balance. - DRIVE: Controls the gain. Start with a high setting and balance with the Clean control. *Designed for use as described above.

- Clean Boost Technique Morning Glory Clean can also be used as a standalone clean boost. Set the CLEAN knob to maximum and increase the DRIVE knob to achieve a clean volume boost without clipping the overdrive.
