[Western 3rd generation revolutionary child born in France] Among the main battle tanks of Western countries called the 3rd generation after the war, the French army's main battle tank, Leclerc, adopted a lot of advanced equipment at the time. All of the tank's main functions are controlled by computer using a vehicle electronic system installed ahead of other countries. The vehicle's position and status can be communicated to allied vehicles and the command center in real time. The turret, which is composed of smooth lines, is equipped with a 120mm smoothbore gun independently developed by France and an automatic loading device, and it is possible to engage 6 targets within 35 seconds even while driving. Additionally, the armor plates are interchangeable and modular, making them easier to repair and modify. The 132 vehicles completed by 1996 were called Series 1, followed by Series 2, where improvements were made to various parts, such as installing a large air conditioner for computers on the top of the turret from 1997. By 2003, 178 vehicles had been produced.
