This is a gem of an album of classic cars for car-loving readers in their 40s, 60s, and even 70s who lived through the Showa era. The concept is "Looking back at the classic cars that powered the Showa era." It's based on the 2020 edition of "The Complete Collection of Showa's Classic Cars, Volumes 1 and 2." Based on this, we've significantly increased the number of pages and added cars that were omitted. The text has also been reorganized and the photos are more comprehensive.
Vol. 1, which was published earlier, covers classic cars that appeared between 1955 and 1980, while Vol. 2 will focus on classic cars from 1981 to 1988, known as the "Golden Showa Period," leading up to the Heisei era. Between each decade, there are columns tracing the history of Japan's motorization and the development of domestically produced cars. Not only is the album-like content substantial, but it's also enjoyable as a read while looking back on those days.
The binding has been finished in a luxurious hardcover package worthy of a "complete edition" by inserting side pages and endpapers before and after the frontispiece and adding a cover.

<From the Editor-in-Chief>
While numerous books on famous Showa cars have been published, this volume features detailed descriptions of 111 cars from 1955 to 1980, more than any other book. Each vehicle's key specifications are presented in detail, and the book features numerous rare photos taken by Motor Magazine magazines at the time, creating a visually stunning presentation. Additionally, ample space—two to four pages—is devoted to major models, ensuring the content is thorough and complete. Furthermore, we've included as many previously underrepresented models as possible.
In addition to vehicle descriptions, the book also includes a total of 19 pages of columns that provide insight into the social climate of the time and the advancement of motorization. It provides a detailed explanation of how Japanese passenger cars were born, developed, overcame the emissions regulations of the early 1950s, and evolved into even more high-performance vehicles, making it a well-read book.
