[Story]
Tokyo is home to ghouls, monsters who appear human but feed on humans. One day, Kaneki, an ordinary college student, is involved in an incident and receives an organ transplant from Rize, a ghoul, turning him into a half-ghoul.
In his grief, Kaneki begins working at Anteiku, a cafe frequented by ghouls. There, he meets high school girls Touka and her friends, and learns that ghouls also have families and friends to protect. Meanwhile, human investigators Amon and Mado appear, intent on eradicating the ghouls, and the pair become embroiled in a fierce battle.
What will the future hold for a young man who questions and struggles with the existence of ghouls, who steal and eat human lives to survive, while searching for the ideal world?
