About the Artist
Oni (Oni Ikka) is...
Last year, he captivated audiences with his overwhelming presence, appearing on Scars producer SAC's debut album "Feel or Beef" and SEEDA & DJ ISSO's "CONCRETE GREEN." His controversial album, "Minai Kodomo, Mienai Otona," released in a limited edition of 250 vinyl copies, sold out immediately, creating a buzz among enthusiasts. With his straightforward lyrics, spirited flow, and punch lines, he's a key figure! A rapper to watch, keep your eyes peeled!!! He has performed with SCARS members like SEEDA and DJ ISSO, as well as LIBRA crew members like Shinjuku representative KAN and JUSWANNA, representing Fukushima's Iwaki region, and Oni. His outspoken hardcore style has garnered attention from all quarters!!! His single (vinyl) "Oni / Invisible Children, Unwatchable Adults" was released in 2007. In 2008, he released the album "Aka Ochi" under the name Oni Ikka. Featuring the classic "Onahama," this album made a huge impact on the scene despite lacking promotion, quickly increasing sales and becoming a long-running hit. However, he suddenly disappeared from the scene. In 2009, he released his first album under the name Oni, "Gokumado," a song written as if to spit out lyrics accumulated during his prison sentence. As a long-awaited release, it has continued to sell at an astonishing pace. The album's tracks, including "Ito," a collaboration with BES, and the classic "Onahama" from "Aka Ochi," were released one after another on vinyl in 2010. He instantly sold out 1,000 vinyl copies, which is rare these days. His street mix CD "Onikoroshi" also sold out in an instant. He is a rapper who truly excels in the art of music. With his albums repeatedly selling out, he is someone listeners cannot take their eyes off.
