LOVEBITES, the five-member all-female metal band, has quickly become a leading presence in the Japanese metal scene. Following their masterful second album, "CLOCKWORK IMMORTALITY," released in December 2018, they have released their long-awaited third album, "ELECTRIC PENTAGRAM." This album was crafted after a European tour in November 2018 and performances at European festivals, including the UK's "Download Festival" in June 2019.
■A work of even stronger unity
This album showcases the five members' stronger bond than ever before. While all members contributed to the lyrics of some tracks, such as "Holy War," the lead tracks "When Destinies Align" and "Raise Some Hell," as well as "Holy War," have lyrics that refer to themselves. Above all, the band had this to say about the meaningful title:
"ELECTRIC PENTAGRAM" represents us, LOVEBITES. A pentagram is a five-pointed star made up of five lines. The pentagram has long been used as a talisman and symbol of protection. We believe that 'ELECTRIC PENTAGRAM' is a fitting title for us, a five-piece band whose work is based on the belief that we must protect heavy metal."
Furthermore, "Dancing With The Devil" is the first song that midori (guitar) was involved in composing and writing the lyrics for. It's a beautiful track that incorporates her signature funky, bluesy '80s hard rock style.
