The classic square cutwork pattern is transformed into a diamond shape. This "sustainable cutwork" combines a beautiful appearance reminiscent of handcrafted art with functionality. Cutting bag components from each unique piece of leather and using every last bit of leather is an extremely difficult task. However, at Genten, we've increased the number of bag patterns from the usual 10 or so to around 50, enabling us to cut every last bit of leather. Each piece of small Minerva Box leather, a Genten staple, is individually cut out with a floral pattern, polished, tempered, and carefully sewn. This painstaking workmanship creates a refined, artisanal feel. The "cut-out" technique accentuates the clean, refined cross-section of the leather. The unique structure, reminiscent of circular knitting, accentuates the softness of the leather, creating a truly appealing piece. This design is based on the sustainable cutwork philosophy of using every last bit of organic leather.
