Heritage
Historical records of shea butter, a staple in African pharmacology, date back to the shea butter caravans of Cleopatra in Egypt. Shea butter is rich in essential fatty acids that moisturize and soften skin. Frankincense has aromatherapy properties. Myrrh appears in a facial mask recipe in the Ebers Papyrus (circa 1580 BC). The packaging's pattern, representing growth, highlights the shea nut, a symbol of collective strength through community commerce supply chains.
Small Beginnings
Nubian Heritage was the brainchild of two street vendors in New York City. In 1992, fresh out of college and looking for work, Rich and Nyema began creating high-quality natural products based on traditional African recipes using fair trade ingredients. Today, Nubian Heritage offers truly natural products, inspired by ancient healing philosophies from around the world, in terms of cultivation practices. While they no longer make their products in a bathtub, little else has changed. They still make their own products, use fair trade ingredients, and continue to invest in community commerce.
How to Use
